Autumn Gathering a Success |
|
A wonderful time was had by the members of the Madison Network of Black Professionals at the Monona Terrace's Autumn Event held November 25, 2008.
This event was possible through a partnership with the Greater Madison Convention and Vistor's Bureau, Monona Terrace and the Madison Network of Black Professionals. Frances Huntley Cooper was the keynote speaker.........as usual she was outstanding in her perspective and words to us all! Our thanks to our partners, and to our own member, Monique Lomax for helping to make this partnership possible! |

Urban League Liason: Derek Johnson During the 2007-2008 school year, MNBP collaborated with the ULGM to provide guest speakers to present to students in the Schools of Hope Program. Approximately, 10 members of the Network volunteered and presented their career experiences with students in all 9 Middle Schools in the Madison Metropolitan School District and 1 Middle School in Sun Prairie. We are looking forward to participating in the Schools of Hope Program again for the 208-2008 school year.
In addition, we (MNBP/ULGM) have discussed how we can best incorporate more parental involvement in the Schools of Hope program and assist with developing more collaborative relationships between parents and the MMSD in general. I am looking for committed individuals that are willing and able to help with this collaboration this year. Please contact Dawn Crim at
